Creating Formative Assessments Using Study Island October 10, 2011
Use your curriculum maps to determine exactly which GLIs you will be assessing at this time
Login to Study Island. On the left side, open OH Programs, select grade level and subject (username@monel)
Now you will have a long list of titles-go to the right side-click on View Standard Map (in blue)
From this screen, determine which categories are the ones you need to assess now. Check the box in front of each area you want to assess
Click on Start Studying
Select the number of questions you want, and click on Printable Worksheet. Click Next. From this, you look at the test and determine if you are satisfied with each question
To launch assessment for Smart pads, plug in receiver, then go to Classroom Response Systems, select Smart, screen will dim. Scroll up, and select the number of questions you want. Next
Select the class, assign pad numbers to students if this has not been previously completed. Select Session, then Next
Click on Run, then unblock if necessary. It should detect your receiver that is plugged into your computer.
